It's exciting to celebrate Christmas every year. Christmas is a fabulous time for all Christians to gather and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ—the true reason for the season.

There are many ways and activities we do to celebrate Christmas.

However, if you’re looking for meaningful ways to remind you of the true reason for this holiday season beyond decorations, family activities, and gifts, here are a few more ideas.

Ready to make this Christmas season extra special? Let’s go!

1. Be grateful

Find time and talk to God individually and with your family. Thank him for all things. Thank God for sending Jesus into the world to be our Savior.

Thank Him for life, all He has given you, provision, and protection throughout the year, and much more!

2. Be present and connect with people

As you look forward to connecting with the people you deeply care about—family and friends—use the season to connect with other community people. Meet with them, talk, love, laugh, and make friends.

Find time to meet with people by going to church on Christmas day or Eve services, visiting them and seeing how they celebrate Christ during the holiday, or by participating in other community activities.

Another idea is to host virtual meetings with family and friends who are far away.

3. Send special Christmas cards

Christmas cards are an essential tradition for many people during the Christmas holidays.

However, consider doing or choosing unique cards this year.

Instead of sending the usual cards with reindeer and Santa pictures, consider sending cards with Bible verses or Christian graphics.

That way, you’ll proudly share with your family and friends that you are a Christian and spread the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

4. Help a needy family

To celebrate the season, you can also find out if there’s a needy family in your community. Or find a local charity that organizes adopt-a-family programs and pick a family to assist this holiday season.

If your family is already involved in the activity, you can consider adding one more needy family. Giving brings so much joy, especially at a time and season we remember Jesus as a gift to the world.

5. Deliver a food basket to a shelter

Giving back to the community never grows old.

So, you can find local shelters in your city, visit them, and give items such as food, clothes, diapers, or other practical items they may need.

You can even volunteer to help them with activities and serving. Volunteering in a shelter during the Christmas season helps teach and instill in us values such as compassion, humility, kindness, and respect for others.

Happy Christmas Holidays!
